Gus`s Coney Island in Chesterfield

These guys are always friendly, professional and the food is so good!! Not to mention affordable! I have never had a problem here, always a good experience!

I ordered a breaded chicken pita ( Hani) through the drive thru and watched them just toss a breaded boneless chicken breast in the microwave to heat it up. Threw it down after and just cut it into slices. Took lettuce and tomatoes that are just sitting out in the steel tin and threw it on there. No wonder it only takes 2 minutes to get your food. It's not even freshly cooked. The hani is one of the staples of a Coney Island in Michigan. Grossed me out. They were also not wearing gloves. Got fries with a side of cheese also. Fries were also just heated up. Nothing was cooked fresh. The o ly thing good was the cheese. This was my favorite coney island growing up. I've lived in Chesterfield for 4 years now and everytime has been very subpar.

Went in for dinner with my family this past Sunday evening and were seated right when we walked in. There were only 4 or 5 other tables in the whole place with people and they had 2 waitresses. We sat for 20 minutes without a waitress acknowledging us. People were coming in after us and getting there orders placed. We decided to just leave since the long haired waitress who was supposed to be our waitress just ignored us for 20 minutes. When we got up to leave she looked at us and I told her we were going to leave and she ignored us and turned and walked away without a word. Never had to deal with this anywhere. Will never be back since she didn't even have the decency to say a word to us even when I was talking right to her.

It's okay. I wouldn't say it's great. It was average, nothing over the top delicious.

The food was excellent! The staff was friendly. The prices were very reasonable. We've lived in Chesterfield for about 23 years now and have never been here. At first, we weren't much of a 'diner' family. Then when we explored, we found so many other coney islands to try. But now that we discovered this one, we will be back. The chicken hoagie was fantastic. I'm happy to see they have a take-out window. The inside could use a little update and freshening up, but don't let that keep you away.

Was lucky to have made a good family aquintance nearby and heard of the 2nd location. I looked across the street and low and behold there it was near the corner. Got the famous chili cheese dog which was good as I remember. Nice family staff and seating. Happy holidays!!

Great coneys, big selection of other stuff and good prices. Always have good food. Place could use a little work/updating as it’s looking a bit worn down.

Just placed a take out order. After I ordered the lady said you do know this is the one on 23 mile road. I said yes, then she said well where are u coming from? Mount Clemens? Because this is chesterfield. I know exactly the location that I called. Since when do u get questions where are u from when placing an order. I didn’t ask for directions. So she assume I was black by my voice and assumed I’m not a resident of chesterfield. Every time I go here it’s after my midnight shift at the hospital. I always tip 50%, yes 50%. Just trying to support during this pandemic. Hunny black people live in chesterfield. I am a HOME OWNER literally 2 mins from this place. So I can assume you don’t want my black money. I will no longer support this business. Your mission is accomplished.

Was very happy with the service. Employees were wearing masks. All the food was hot, fresh and very good! We had a great meal!

Excellent place to eat!! Highly recommend!!! Been going here for many years. Love the chicken and cheese hoagie, steak and cheese hoagie, chili fries, chicken noodle soup. Service has always been great also.

I grew up on Gus's Coney Island I used to go to the one in Mount Clemens but now that I work on 23 and Gratiot Chesterfield has been my number one Coney Island for the last 4 years grateful great customer service

I ordered breakfast but because I'm on a low carb diet, they offer tomatoe slices instead of potatoes. The tomatoes were red, ripe and tasty, the bacon was perfect as were the over easy eggs. The cook took pride in the presentation of the meal which garnered a tip for him as well. Coffee was consistently filled without asking. Excellent customer service.

Good food. Friendly staff. Free parking every night and weekend. Oh, and they're open when everyone else is closed.

Terrible worst coney dog and coney fry I ever had. 1star for effort.

Haven't been here in awhile and will not be returning as to how filthy and disgusting the place has gotten over time. Like no body has swept the floors in days or wiped off the salt & pepper shakers. We were there in the morning so can't say you had busy day. I had to tell them the men's room need attention badly.

Love this place. Been going here for decades. Still the greatest. Best hash browns on the planet. I'll continue to go here till it, or myself cease to exist. And it's super inexpensive. Two people, two full meals and four drinks for less than $20. Can't beat it.

I've been coming here for years, always excellent service and food! Everything was served fresh and with a smile at 6am which was very appreciated after a 12 hour shift.

We have been going there for over 20 years!! Always had great service and food. ...until last night! The 2 waitress were arguing about who would wait on us...out loud and pointing at us! Neither one wanted to take our order. This went on at least 8 minutes!!!! Very rude and unprofessional. We got up and went elsewhere for dinner. Very dissatisfied and disappointi

No frills staple of Chesterfield. This place is cheap and has a good menu loaded with anything you could want from a coney island along with a few pleasant surprises. Their soup is good as well. Friendly efficient staff. Good for quick cheap meal. They have a drive through for take out as well which is convenient.

Good food, good service. Don’t go threw the drive threw tho, there’s a 60% they will get your order wrong because the speaker sucks. The young waitress who wears a lot of makeup is my fav ❤️ Only because she’s good at her job and not because she has a really really nice butt and face.

I called in and they didn’t even repeat my order back or ask for my name so I had to call back. I get there and tell them my name and they say that they are going to see if it’s done and then never come back to me. I try to get multiple of the waitresses attention and they all ignore me they were totally rude.

This place has a drive through! I am always given outstanding service with low cost tasty meals. I really enjoy coming here before work, and I would recommend checking this place out.

Actually, sort of underrated place. Food comparing with prices are pretty good and the place feeling good.

Horrible experience with cashier at window. How do you tell someone whose purchasing a dinner you can’t give them more ketchup packs. It’s only ketchup. I will never be back she was rude and acted like it was her ketchup.

Just went thru the drive thru 20 minutes ago after a 10 hour day at work.Craving a coney dog and chili cheese fries.Coney dog was good but chili cheese fries wereThe most disgusting thing I ever had. Thought something was up when the food came out before I got to the window. My fries had to be done 10Hours ago . Very hard, couldn’t even eat them!!!During this time you would think that a small business like this would serve fresh fries!!! With soMany small businesses closing!!!Very sad!!!

I started coming here about 30 years ago when I was a kid. My parents brought me n my bros here for family dinners. I'm 45 now and I still love coming here. Gus' has delicious food , a bright and clean look inside, friendly staff and just a real homey feel. You should give Gus' a try .. You won't be disappointed.

Always great food no matter if you dine in or carryout. Friendly people, clean, food is hot and fresh. We live close so Gus' Coney is our go to place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. They also have a drive through which is fast and convenient. Try and love it as my family does.

if i could give no stars i would. I called and placed a carry out order, was told 20 minutes. gave my name and she even repeated back the carry out order back to me. went to go pick up my food and they supposedly had "no carryouts" was then told that i called the mt clemens store or jillians. when i call to order a carry out i know where i am calling. the lady on the phone was extremely rude and had no answers for me as to where my food was. very disappointed in the customer service there, and will not return.

Best coney around! Vince's lemon rice soup is the best you'll ever have! Great food always great service, the cooks here rock! Best damn food around.

We were there today and the place was filthy cleanliness wise also had ants all over the floor. Very messy place....

Good variety of food items. The staff seems to cater to the regulars. We sat down for a while before we had our order taken. Then didn't get any beverage refills or asked if we wanted anything else.

Today's visit at Gus's Coney Island was not very good. The table had crumbs left over from don't know can only guess, the wait staff were arguing with the cook or vise versa, the food was served Luke warm, and I was only one of two tables.
